Origin and Destination

Apprendre à l'étranger oui, mais pas n'importe comment !

Studying English is an adventure.

Everyone has an idea of where they would like to go. Maybe you want to be fluent or bilingual. Or maybe you have a conference coming up in the United States and you want to feel comfortable speaking in a professional context. Whether for business or pleasure, your goal is an important part of your motivation.

However, imagine you want to go to New York City. How will you get there ? Will you take a plane, a train, or a bus ? And the answer to that question will be determined by where you are starting from. Are you in Paris? Or Boston?

It’s the same with learning English. Where you are now and how you will get to your goal is just as important as your goal itself.

Start your adventure on the right foot!

Before you book your tickets for a séjour linguistique in England ask yourself these questions. Do you have an appropriate level? Is that the best way to get where you want to be? We have met many students who ended up spending all of their time speaking French with their fellow students. The immersion method can work, but if you don’t have the right level to begin with it can simply be too difficult – and even unpleasant. It’s no wonder many students run to the refuge of their native language.

Putting yourself in a learning situation that’s too easy or too difficult is not a recipe for success. We offer a variety of programs to fit your profile. How available are you ? How much time do you have to work outside of class ? Do you want to work more independently or more closely with a teacher ? Getting answers to the right questions will ensure that you start your adventure on the right foot!
